And what is the reliability of information provided by the State and the mass media? Given your experience both inside and outside the US military we felt you would be ideally placed to explore this theme. Sponsored by the International Peace Bureau, The University of Mons and the Mundaneum Archives Centre. This conference is part of a year-long series of activities to commemorate the centenary of the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to Henri Lafontaine, a Belgian Senator and the President of the IPB over 36 years. La Fontaine was an outstanding figure in the international peace movement, a lawyer and politician. He was also a visonary who believed in constructing an international system of law and institutions to prevent war and to advance the struggle for social justice. Together with Paul Otlet, he was the founder of the Mundaneum Archives Centre.
